Forest and Bristol City fancy Cotterill?

I have only just picked up on this but according to The Express (here) our very own Steve Cotterill is one of the candidates for the vacant Forest job?

An article said: 'Aston Villa first-team coach Kevin MacDonald is battling Portsmouth boss Steve Cotterill and former Barnsley manager Mark Robins in the race to take over at Nottingham Forest.

'MacDonald has been targeted to take the place of Steve McClaren and was interviewed for the post at the City Ground on Saturday.'

Given the views that I had seen when a move to take their former manager, as well as ours, Paul Hart back to the club in a kind of director of football role failed, as they could not payout compensation - around £500,000 - to Charlton I find it unlikely that they will get Cotterill?

Even though, and this is down to opinion, he is 'under pressure' at Fratton I cannot see CSI just letting him 'walk away' without a compensation payment paid to them for him, can you?

That said if they have doubts about his managerial qualities here they may let him walk as it will mean that they will not need to pay him compensation should they decide to part company with him in the coming weeks - something they would then need to do!

He is also being 'linked' with the job at Bristol City.

To be honest I cannot see him getting the Forest job, or going to Bristol City, then again you can never say never in football can you...

If SC is interested in these posts then it doesn't say much for his loyalty.

Trust we have a £5m buy out clause!!!! The daft thing is if SC left he would probably turn those clubs around & above us in the league. I thnik some of the senior players who do more talking off the pitch & not so much on it should have a cattle prod inserted where the sund doesn't shine!

Please take Kitsons with you SC... Please!

Let him go and get Billy Davies in.

I have been a supporter of SC and have listened to the critisisms.. I find my unbothered if he goes.. look at the guys who are out of work at this precise moment in time.. Billy Davies and Dave Jones- both have excellent records at this level.. Sean O'Driscoll turned Donny into the "Yorkshire Arsenal"-my phrase.. there are others too

Despite what the papers might say, you're welcome to SC. Like Plymouth Graham, the forest fans rate O'Driscoll and Davies as better bets too.

If he go's, so be it. Davey Jones, Billy Davies could all do the job; although it wouldn't be an issueif players like Lawrence just shut up and dud their day job.

we are not that lucky unfortunately...

I really doubt he'll go. He's finally got round to building his own team here, now all he has to do is win over the rest of the fans.
PompeyFrippy
Or win back the fans that his dire brand of football has already stopped from attending?
