A strange one?

Being in Corfu as I am - not rubbing this in, I 'hear' there is something of a 'heatwave' back home anyway? - it is tough to really keep up to date with what is going on but what I managed to find out back along, think yesterday, puzzled me somewhat?

I hear Steve Cotterill is contemplating loaning out Markus Futacs...

Whilst I understand that the guy needs to play football what I do not understand is why sign him on a 1-year contract - with the option of another 2-years I believe - if you feel that you then need to loan him out?

A sceptic 'might think' that a Hungarian signing could well have come about due to a Hungarian influence in the boardroom, so who actually wanted to sign him...

As sceptical, and even cynical as I sometimes have been, I would not say I personally quite feel that way - although I do, like I say, find it odd that he has been signed but talks of loaning him out are already being spoken about?

And not just Futacs either, others are also being spoken about - not by name - as being loaned out as well?!

This I find even more 'strange' as we have a small enough squad as it is so why would we be looking to loan out more players...

Well, I guess all we can do is see what happens.

I agree with the principle of players needing to play and this is what makes it all the more important to look to bring back a reserve set-up for next season for me. The 1st team players on the fringes can be used in this area with the youngsters 'making up the numbers', and with so many of these in the academy set-up at the moment we would not struggle to field a side.

To tell the truth I am not sure when I will next be able to 'properly' get online but what are your views on the idea of loaning out Futacs, and others?
