'I Want Distin Here'

'I Want Distin Here'

Stuart Pearce laughed off the story that Distin was talking to Borough because he was about to leave for a pre-season tour. Pearce is hopeful that Distin will sign for Man City after offering an improved contract.

'I was quite surprised to read Sylvain was supposed to be talking to Middlesbrough because he is going on the tour,' Pearce told Sky Sports News.

'We have offered him a fantastic contract and we hope he will sign it.

'One thing that might force his hand is the success of Manchester City over the next season, possibly the likes of Joey Barton and Micah Richards wanting to be part of the club and also the new faces like Didi Hamann and Ousmane Dabo."

'Hopefully we will bring in one or two more allied to those we have already got.'

In other news Villa have told Pompey and Tottenham that they can`t have Gareth Barry, at least until a new manager is appointed.

So the endless search goes on. It just goes to show that money can't buy everything.

It would seem more of a case of 'money can't buy you anything' at the moment.
