Vital New Pompey Team

I`m sure that you have noticed the list to the right growing. That is the site journalists of which there are seven. Vital Pompey is set to take a huge make over, first of all the journalists;

Les Matthews (me)- Main Editor- I will bring you the news when it breaks and even news before it does. I will try my up most to make your vital site the greatest Pompey site on the net.

Rug- Match Reports and Temporary Contributor- Rug will eventually just do the Match Report, Match Stats and Premier League round up. Rug has produced many an article on Vital and I rate him highly enough to trust him with his own admin.

Sam- Story Finder- Sam will scour the web and demand answers in his search for the latest facts regarding Portsmouth. Sam is also a member of Vital Pompey and has always posted respectable comments, making him my number one choice for this role.

Chris- Site Advertiser- With Vital Pompey wanting to expand this role is going to be "vital" as Chris helps me with the many projects set to be undertaken. Chris has impressed with his trial articles.

Paul- Match Previews- Paul, known on Vital as Paultsmouth, continues the same role he did to such great effect last year. Vital Pompey members where impressed with his attention to detail and dedication towards the role.

Matt Jones- Site PA- Matt will be in-charge of any complaints, comments or suggestions you may have about an article that has been written. His fantastic people skills and vast experience in dealing with complaints make him an ideal employee in this role. He will also control all website finances, as Vital Pompey looks to invest in prizes and advertising.

Pete Alexander- Monday Column- I was so impressed by has application for the job I gave him the job that day. Last night he posted his first Monday Column article and I`m sure you will agree it was superb. Pete will bring something fresh to Vital Pompey.

It has taken a while but I finally have a team that I`m really proud of. They have all been employed for a year. After that year is up each role will be reviewed. Vital Pompey will still employ a co-editor but I will be taking my time on this, I`m looking to employ someone with vast experience.

Expect another announcement regarding new features that will occur on Vital Pompey, a couple of which you have already been informed of.

Best of luck, i look forward to seeing the site really taking shape. Pompey have needed for some time a new site that has a fresh perspective on things!

I daresay we're all looking forward to seeing the improvements that the new faces will bring (especially after the sad demise of the 606 forums!)

Yes good luck to all concerned. I'm only sorry I can't join you. Being located in Sydney means the only games I can watch are via cable TV which isn't too many during a season, and the odd game on my UK sojourns. Les, I will probably pop up with a story or two from time to time (Like the Time Machine experiences) and email them to you if you can use them then great. In the interim I will just continue to proliferate the site with my usual 'hence of sumour' and misleading headings. Fen, now that we have so many subscribers our banter has become more widespread and less repetitive. How times change, but it is good that so many have come to this site. It augurs well.

I'm sure we'll all give it our all. No doubt you'll end up thinking not him again but like that fly you just couldn't get away from your food during these hot months I'll (as will we all) keep coming back for more...

One article I will be glad not to be reading or writing will be THE SURVIVAL SERIES that we did last season. Worse case scenario would be the MID TABLE CRISIS.

Looks a formidable line up and the fact that there is seven of you shows the life in the Vital Pompey site but I believe you have missed some of the extra duties, Les for example should be main editor and goalkeeper.

What do we hope for from the rest of the season?

There seems to be a lot of unhappiness around, despite a pretty decent season in my opinion. Well, certainly our best season in a long while.

Debut delight...kind of!

It wasn't a result, and in many ways a performance, for Sheff United loanee Freeman to remember too fondly as he didn't really have a great game against Orient? Then again who did!

On this day in history...10th February

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 10th February.

Tubbs has left the building

Tubbs has finally left Pompey; perhaps his destination is something of a surprise then again there had been some 'rumours' recently of an Eastleigh interest.
