Pedro Mendes Signs Four Year Deal

Pedro Mendes has put pen to paper on a four year contract, saying that Portsmouth is the place to be at the moment!

Pedro Mendes will now remain at Portsmouth until 2010. The player scored a couple of rockets last year and became a fans favourite, helping pompey avoid relegation.

He said," It is exciting for me to cement my future here at Portsmouth. Last year was a special season for me and i am glad that, as a newcomer to Pompey, I managed to hit the ground running. However, this is only the begining. Anyone who is at Pompey these days knows that great things are happening and that this is the place to be. It is a delight, a challenge and a responsibility to be part of the building block of this new era at the club and i am looking forward to the new season."

Pedro joins a number of players who have signed new contracts with the club.

He will long be remembered for kick starting our survival with that last gasp goal against City. Glad we still have him, now we need some icing on that Pompey cake.
