Pompey to bring in Jed Wallace
Word on the street had it that Pompey were bringing in a midfielder, and this will be confirmed pretty soon by all accounts.
Whilst the club are yet to confirm this it is 'believed' that Jed Wallace will be announced later today...
Lewes manager, who was Wallace's manager at Farnborough, said the following about the 17-year-old: 'Newcastle were all over him to go up there but he passed his medical at Portsmouth on Saturday and has signed a three-year deal. I said all along he would become a professional.
'We are not entitled to any fee but Steve Cotterill, the Portsmouth manager, has said he will bring his full first-team down for a pre-season friendly next year which will be worth a decent amount of money to us.'
This is the midfielder that was 'thought' to have featured in the 'behind-closed-doors' friendly with Swindon last week - if he did or not I could not say?
Apparently the arrival of Futacs last week delayed Wallace's arrival but WOTS was right on this one, or will be near enough when The Pompey Site confirm his arrival...
