So, I think we can all pretty much take it as a 'given' that Erik Huseklepp is a 'done deal'...
The Norwegian's arrival 'should' be confirmed anytime now.
Well, 'word on the street' tells us at Vital Pompey Towers that moves for 'at least' one more arrival by the weekend are being made!
'Apparently' an improved offer had been made to Ipswich for Grant Leadbitter, this had also been rejected so 'Cotterill has dropped approach for another premier league loan.'
The reason why it is thought this midfielder is a loanee is because 'another permanent arrival, assumed a defender, is on the way'.
A full back is 'believed' to be what this potential permanent defensive arrival would be?
Of course as always we are not claiming this is gospel, merely sharing the whispers that come through to us...

I was pondering that last night Mr Frippy and what I think he's built quite a strong first 11 and subs bench; squad, to me means back up for each position; that might be over stating it. What I think CSI has done is bought enough time to reinforce for the injury plagued jan, feb and march months so far it's all quite positive and I hope the fans give the club executive and management the support it needs.

I think a couple of young loans from the Prem who are eager to prove themselves is what we need, then we're more or less sorted. Just try and keep up the performance with which we beat Reading. PUP!

I think we are already good with the numbers I'd defenders we have (8 out of 18); we only have 4 midfielders which is a concern I think, so I think a midfield signing is a must. We'll have 5 strikers (19 squad) once the Viking pens the deal so I think we're good there. Other than the lack of midfielders I would be very concerned at the number of cards we're picking up already. 10 players on between 1 and 3 yellows already, in just three games! That could bite hard if not fixed! We need to be disciplined, but we also need cover for those that tip the scales and get suspended, for some that's gonna come very soon at this rate. PUP

I think if/when Huseklepp gets approved, we're set for strikers, another midfielder wouldn't go amiss either. I'd be happy with that concerning permanent transfers. The 'depth' that is needed so far as a squad is concerned can be fulfilled with a few loans. Lets face it, if we had the 5 lads that came in on loan last season back again, they'd make decent squad players, but not necessary get into the starting XI (exceptions of Halford and De Laet maybe).

1151 you are right about the discipline issue. I'm already fed up with that clown Moodie on Pompeylive who continuously claims Pompey aren't over physical; it's justevery referee in the championship, it's pathetic.
