'If It's Football, It's Vital'

PFC talks with Bari confirmed!?

Yep, I am sure that a number of you have seen the 'reports' growing on t'internet about Erik Huseklepp coming to Pompey.

Fansonline says that he is 'to join Portsmouth'...

Well 'word on the street', which is coming through thick and fast, tells Vital Pompey Towers (from a journo that has spoken to 'well placed sources at Bari') that Bari have confirmed 'Pompey talks' over the striker.

A figure 'circa 1.9m Euros' is being mentioned.

No source at Pompey will 'confirm' anything and are currently 'declining to comment.'

Maybe, just maybe Huseklepp really is on his way to Fratton?

Could we even get another 'big announcement' prior to kick-off against Reading tonight...

This is sounding more and more interesting. I have a feeling that he will be announced tonight, just as you said. Looking forward to see what happens. We could be playing a new striking force by next week: Benjani and Huseklepp. Interesting.

Fingers crossed, but the right noises are certainly being made. Seen it go wrong so many times before though, I'm taking nothing for granted. In other news, shouldn't that picture read: Beware Flying Football's - Quashie's in town.

I really hope this comes off. I could see him being the missing link in cott's 433. Imagine him on the erik on the right of a 3, with benji in the centre and varney on the left. I could really see that working! Also if we were to sign another winger he could move over to the centre of the three.

Would be another great surprise if he was announced as a signing before the game tonight! When they said that Pompey had made a signing before the Brighton game i thought it might of been this Erik guy.

We have never seen him play and one goal every four in the Norwegian League is not that great!! Hope I am wrong of course.

But look at his little face Dave! Isn't he just adorable. Oh, please can we keep him, pretty pretty please?

With him and Benji up front with have the happiest strikeforce in the country.

With Dave on that one - happy he'll be there to make up the numbers at the very, very least! If he's half as good as people are seeming to think then that'll be a bonus!

Always a gamble with any foreign player, they take time to hit the floor running. we need the numbers & options so maybe just maybe.

There is another story suggesting that the smelly lot from up the road are also interested - talking up the price maybe or really interested?? I think, all in all, a bit of a gamble but he is an international, plays the position we are desperate for and still quite young so lets go for it!

A lot of people rate him, his mum, his agent, the CEO of Bari...he has links with Liverppol and celtic in the past, well so have i..i slept on lyme st station in the 80's and bought quite a few sinples on the postcard label (early 80's NME readers may only get that) I hope he does sign and is a good player, but probably neither will be the case..

he was considered a fine prospect and chose Serie A instead; Norsk types said given his type of hustle football that was a wrong decisionthey turned out to be competely and utterly .... right. So hes looking to come to Pompey to prove his worth and get sold on to a Prem team. Fine by me if he turns up does the biz and makes us some money; just the small matter of needing to get his signature first

Translated from Italian to English, the Serie B side announced on their official site: “AS Bari and Portsmouth have reached an agreement to sell the player outright Erik Huseklepp. The player will be in Portsmouth tomorrow to sign the contract and the usual medical examinations.”

Dave our Erik can also play out on the wing which I understand is where he mostly played his International games. If that is the case 1 goal in 4 games ain't bad and better than the Pompey strikers managed last season, including Nugget who - i think- scored more than one in the odd game.
