Links thick and fast, will any arrive though?

Links thick and fast, will any arrive though?

After a quiet, too quiet, period of 'rumours' not to mention 'non-transfer' activity, these 'links' are coming thick and fast again!

Steve Cotterill said earlier in the week that he was 'hopeful' that David Lampitt would be able to tie up some deals this week, but will he?

We have seen Grant Leadbitter 'strongly linked', with a £2m signing possible for the Ipswich Captain?

Other 'links' have seen Ryan Shotton, again, and Mark Marshall - not sure who he is though to be honest - linked with moves to PFC.

Another one that The news says is coming from Norway is an interest in Bari's Norwegian striker Erik Huseklepp - again not someone that I know anything about, but I am told 'he looks good...'

A 'free agent' that it is 'said' we will bring in is another former Ipswich man, experienced and well travelled, 32-year-old Kevin Lisbie. Not exactly the man I would have been thinking of but beggars cannot be choosers can they!

The last, and interesting, 'rumour' is of a possible swap deal with QPR for Tal Ben-Haim with Lee Cook coming the other way?

I never thought I would say this but the recent signs are that we would 'miss' TBH, although getting his wages off the wage bill are needed and 'if' Cook could stay fit, easier said than done, then the winger would be a good arrival.

Plenty to sink our teeth into today, although what we really want is arrivals not rumours!

Something, not that I am trying to 'get hopes up', we 'may' need to take into account is just because we do not hear anything today it does not mean no movement is made?

Several times in recent months we have only found out about a signing literally minutes before a game kicks-off...

Do you reckon we can bring in at least one new face before Brighton?

Mark Marshall is the winger who tore us apart on Tuesday night

Lisbie is quick - or he was at least.... probably not as good as Webber but beggars as you say Rug! If TBH goes we will need Shotton, Cook should be decent in this league but hasnt set the world alight since being back at QPR from Fulham. Leadbitter would be excellenet but for the money... still, much better news and players desperately needed! I'm not sure we will actually sign anyone in time for tomorrows game..... PS. I take it you were joking about Mark Marshall?? :)

Just imagine, one signing and we could have a full bench. Heady days indeed.

If SC is ready to sign Mark Marshall from League 2, then he should go on and sign Matt Tubbs too...

'Not as good as Webber', I really can't understand this obsession people seem to have with Danny Webber. You couldn't fault his effort but that's about it in my opinion. He certainly wasn't a goal scorer and that is what we desperately need at the moment. I reckon Adam LeFondre is the type of player we need, an out and out goalscorer, every team needs one.

Webber was injured 80% of his contract with us
    12/08/2011 11:30:00
If QPR can't pay a reported 36,000 a week for Erik Huseklepp, How can we unless his demands have lowered can't see this one, Leadbitter seems most likely if any today, Lets hope others follow next week.

Didn't Cotts say he wanted 5 more?
    12/08/2011 12:08:00
Exgaffer - its not an obsession, in my opinion Lisbie vs. Webber - Webber just edges it... if we want to sign Lisbie, why not offer Webber a one year deal? Niether are goalscorers really but both can play in a front 3. I agree we need someone who will score regularly, we also need wide players to supply them and Lisbie fits the bill - as did Webber really. Hussler, dont you mean 80% of last season?

HH and TBH back for tomorrow - I would love us to get a clean sheet! I will predict 1-0, Norris, Kitson or Halford to score!
