Surely we can get at least one arrival!?
Naming only 3 outfield subs against Boro at the weekend, which included a 37-year-old only signed on a 'month-to-month' contract the day before, was something that most of us thought would make it 'highly likely' that reinforcements would come this week...
Well, naming only 2 against Barnet, was even worse!
Defeat at Fratton by the league two side was worse actually...
If we do not bring in even at least 1 player, on loan even, before Brighton I would be astonished - surely we must be able to bring in a loanee at least?
With all due respect to Boro, I fear that the attacking power that Brighton have will means that if they get their noses in front this weekend then they will not be letting us back into the game so easily.
If we have to go 'chasing the game' then their attacking ability would 'probably' see them take advantage and score more - and given the lack of 'attacking power' of our own getting back into a game is not going to be easy...
As someone said to me last night 'I ascribe to 'quality over quantity' but this is stupid!'
Can you disagree with that?
Once again I will say that I have little doubt the club are working hard to bring in players but we have to work even harder, an arrival - at least one, and at least a loanee - is essential in the coming days...

Can't disagree with any of that. I'm all for quality over quantity, but we need enough players to start a match. I'm wondering whether last was a message to the owners, or whether Cotterill really just doesn't have any hurried interest in signing players.

Simply embarrassing, this needs to be addressed and quick otherwise CSI will need to conduct a criminal investigation into the deception of football fans who paid money to watch something they call football.

Any poor unfortunate who went last night should be re-imbersed their ticket money. The players should voluteer their match fee for doing it. Its an absolute disgrace whether it was a message to the owners or not. Webber would have helped... and why no Stockford on the bench? LL is starting to owe the fans here big time now.

If we have at least £2.5m to spend, and with all the 'frees' around, surely the fault must be with SC and/or the scouts for not having sufficient 'targets'. I know we have a rigid wage structure but there must be many willing to play for £10-12 grand a week.

I'm sorry but i think the 3 on the bench was a deliberate ploy by Cotterille and he did not care about the game so was prepared to use the careless cup for his purposes. Despite his flambouyant outburst in the news today the hard thing for me to accept, I was at the game, Cotterille didn't seem that exercised as far as i could see.
