Its back! 2011/12 Pompey Predictions League

It is that time of the year again; the season is almost upon us so it is time to remind you about the return of a regular feature to Vital Pompey.

The 5th annual Pompey Predictions League - many of you will be familiar with the format having taken part in the competition in previous years - is up and running in the forum.

As with past seasons this is a very simple idea that will take minimal time and effort, but should be a bit of fun for us throughout the 2011/12 season.

To take part in this, as I say simple but effective yet best of all free idea all you have to do is be a member of this site (sign up here) and be willing to spent a few moments before each game that Pompey play to put forward your prediction on what you think the result will be and who will be its Pompey goalscorers.

Simple enough, eh!?

The prizes...
As with last season 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will all win something, the higher the placing the better the prize - something for nothing cannot be bad can it!?

And this really is something for nothing, there really are no catches!

Predictor of the month: The member that scores the most points each month will claim this prize, which will be a signed and mounted photograph of a former Pompey player - you will have the choice from a list of names.

Get involved...
This is quick, easy, effective and best of all free.

It is a bit of fun and should get some banter going, so I hope plenty of you get involved again - what have you got to lose guys?

It is not as if you are not coming on the site anyway, so take a slight detour before each game we play and join, login and put down your prediction to stand the chance of winning something.

So who is in?

    An unexpected visitor

Pompey's Burgess was clearly at a loose end when the game at Crawley was postponed. That much was initially obviously with the level of desire to be involved in footie later revealed.

Cook - no need for a prolific marksman

Cook has said Pompey's lack of a 25 goal striker - I still think we have one - isn't going to impact on our promotion chances. I can see both sides of Cookie's opinion here to be fair.

Doncaster and Plymouth strengthened their positions in automatic promotion places with wins. Notts County and Newport remain in the relegation places.
