An 'ideal world' scenario

An 'ideal world' scenario

Of course I know as well as you that we live in a far from ideal world, but hear me out...

Even though we are yet to bring in a striker at all when this does happen, as it will do in the days (hopefully) or weeks ahead, that will make that area almost complete - in as much as permanent signings go anyway!

Now this is what I would like after that in my 'ideal world' scenario...

For me, after that addition, we would still a striker short so what I would then like us to try and do is bring in an up and coming striker, perhaps someone on the fringes of his premier league parent club, on loan for the season.

Someone hungry, eager and keen could work with all benefiting?

Chelski, Citeh, Manyoo or Arsenal must have someone that fits the bill, right?

Off the top of my head Nathan Delfouneso of Villa or Daniel Pacheco or Nathan Eccleston from Liverpool for example would be good options for this season long loan perhaps...

Another Ben Sahar is what we could do without though!

What about Raheem Sterling of Liverpool. He has an eye for goal and would probably love to prove himself with first team football.

Arsenal players -Carlos Vela maybe, Jay Emmanuel Thomas, Henri Lansbury, Benik Afobe? The 3 at Chelsea Kakuta, Bertrand, Van Arnholt? Liverpools Jonjo Shelvey, David Amoo?

Kakuta would definitely be top of my list, but I can't see it happening. One can only hope.

Pay up for a certain Soulyemane Coulibaly; the new Drogba who is being chased by big clubs. We can offer him football now, not in the future. The guy was in an incredible form in the under 17's WC!

Third time lucky? Nope as O'Shea interest ends

O'Shea saw a couple of bids for him put in; these were turned down by Chesterfield. A third bid hasn't come from Pompey and it isn't going to either.

Topping last seasons tally the aim

78pts was only enough for a play-off place last season so you suspect we'll have to better that for a top 3 finish this coming season, which begins with Carlisle at Fratton.

Done Deal - Smith in permanently from Swindon

The interest Pompey retained in Smith, with him 'in our sights' has resulted in him returning to the Blues on a permanent basis after signing for an 'undisclosed fee' from Swindon.
