Gray joins coaching set-up

Former Scum manager Stuart Gray is the man that Steve Cotterill has turned to as part of his new coaching set-up at Pompey.

This is according to The Echo anyway...

I may have missed it but at this point I am pretty sure that nothing 'official' has been released, nor has anything been in The News?

Cotterill had said last week that he was going to 'make a phone call' to someone he wanted to join the coaching set-up and former Scum player and manager Gray appears to be the man.

UPDATE
Whilst not 'officially' confirmed Cotterill has, on what now appears to be acting as the official website, told The News he is onboard.

A failed Scummer manager great ! Nice one Steve... still could've been worse could have been Ian Dowie..

Looks like that mystery has been solved then. I was still clinging to the feintest bit of hope that Graham Alexander would be the man in question for personal reasons, but Gray will have to do! Don't know too much about him, but glad Cotterill has now got someone to work with,

Neil Allen has confirmed it via his usual first source, Twitter, so I would expect a News article to be up about it soon.

Never comfortable with an ex-scummer anywhere near us but then again that's a hardened view. I remember knowing someone how knew SG & they said he was a 'nice' guy but not tough enough for football management!!! Let's hope his 'niceness' works as a coach???

I remember the shock at Scum when he was appointed and I thought he was poor but, hey, lets see how it goes. If he does well for us and we go places it will make the Scum glum.

A poor manager he might have been, but by all accounts he's a decent coach...
