Puncheon 'linked' again

Puncheon 'linked' again

Another day and another 'rumour' of player interest surfaces.

Well this is not a new rumour mind as we have been here before, at least 'linked' with him before...

According to The Echo, the scum equivalent of The News, Jason Puncheon is again of interest to Steve Cotterill.

It was being 'claimed' in January that we wanted to sign him from Scum, although the talk was of money around £1m - and that was never gonna happen!

He eventually joined Blackpool on loan but has since returned to our south coast rivals - this return will be short-lived though as he wants to leave and Scum want him to leave, this has seen him left out of a training camp and a pre-season tour.

The Echo 'understands' that we have enquired about the winger but no 'firm bid' has been made yet.

Blackpool, West Ham and QPR are also 'said' to be interested.

What do you reckon guys, will Jason Puncheon be the latest to cross the south coast divide - would you even want this?

Seems he doesn't get on with Stains management over some verbal commitment. Don't know much about him as a player perhaps the link is more about location than fact

We can't compete financially with the others so I'm not convinced about this one - so we are likely to see him at Eastleigh Monday then :-)

Cotts interested in January, now he wants to leave, Blackpool are the only team to make an approach. but they also wont pay the price, scum have a 2 year contract so looks like their stuck with him unless they lower the price.

He is a pretty good player but do we really want a scummer.

I think he's very poor and Snaits have tunbled him, as have Blackpool. We've just got shot of a few players like this, so NO.

Hmm..not convinced, he did have a couple of great performances at Blackpool...what ius it with Blackpool and Cotts.. Varney,Evatt, and now Puncheon ( "+ judy", or just "above his weight)..who next..Charlie Adam.. As for wanting a Scummer..well can i just remind everyone of a recent headline proclaiming that a former hero had retyrned to club to take up a coaching role with the you...just where did Macca come from...not always a bad thing to take a scummer

As I mentioned in the Forum, we haven't really got any natural wingers, so signing Puncheon would be a decent buy. But I'm not sure if he is affordable, and if he is, will his tempremental side clash with Cotterill's?

An unexpected visitor

Pompey's Burgess was clearly at a loose end when the game at Crawley was postponed. That much was initially obviously with the level of desire to be involved in footie later revealed.

Cook - no need for a prolific marksman

Cook has said Pompey's lack of a 25 goal striker - I still think we have one - isn't going to impact on our promotion chances. I can see both sides of Cookie's opinion here to be fair.
