Pompey sign Henderson

Pompey sign Henderson

As of yet, at 17:11 when I started writing this, there is nothing official on The Pompey Site, but according to The News our numbers have grown this afternoon!

Stephen Henderson has been someone who was expected to sign for Pompey and this has now gone through.

The News says that a medical has been passed and he has 'put pen to paper' on a contract with PFC.

A compensation amount will be paid to Bristol City for the keeper even though he was a free agent.

Wonder if the club are waiting to make it official with a double signing with Varney?

I'm pleased this one has gone through, hopefully we can stop pretending Ashdowne is anything more than very ordinary; he will have to uphis game, gain some confidence or lose his position. I don't think Henderson isgoing to set the world alight but he is confident enough to put his name forward.

It seems that Nugent has definately signed for the Foxes..I can not say I am totally disapointed but I cant see us getting much better...unless we get Matty Tubbs, or billy sharp

Neil Allen from The News has tweeted that Henderson and Varney will be unveiled as signings tomorrow and that also, Halford will be the next one through the door and on a permanent deal. No idea of the fee yet though.

well at least we have someone who can give ashdown some competition and seeing he's still relatively youngish he should b a good signing

2 'keepers?! That's madness! Glad to see the numbers boosted yet again, we may be able to put out a full team on Monday against the Hawks, albeit with Henderson up front.

@plymouth graham: I have always thought lualua would be worth tempting back. At this level he would be outstanding. Hopefully he is back in the game mentally after his unfortunate personal tragedy. I don't think we could afford Yaks wages however, he was on something like 80k a week at the walkers. Good optimism though!
