Quote from Official Club Re..TICKET PRICES CUT
'The club has been overwhelmed by the remarkable show of faith by supporters this summer, with nearly 8,000 renewing their season tickets for 2011/12'
'Pompey`s new owners have cut the price of adult matchday tickets by £2 for 17 of Pompey`s Championship home games'.
'In a series of initiatives to thank fans for their loyalty, they have also scrapped the planned third-phase rise in season ticket prices'.
blah .. blah .. blah ..
So the club have thanked the loyalty of Early Bird Season Ticket Holders.. HOW ?
By reducing the match day cost for everybody else who isn't a season ticket holder... or by increasing the timespan for those that haven't bought a season ticket yet ..
How is MY (an Early Bird ST for years) loyalty being rewarded ??
.. and no I don't know any people that haven't bought an ST yet .. All my family and mates already have one .. so NO I can't get a 10% discount under the following initiative...
'Early-bird season ticket holders are being given another chance to get 10% back off the price of their season ticket by introducing a friend'
Loyalty to the fans.. who stumped up money early especially last year total and utter ... POPPYCOCK ... I'M NOT IMPRESSED PFC
How about REALLY rewarding those that put their money where their mouth was - eh Mr Lampitski & Co.
Good luck to those who do benefit ...
But what's is in for ME... and MY 'remarkable show of faith'
Sweet FA by the looks of things

The meeting centered around Cat B games, the admin fee and ST prices. The outcome was that Cat B games dropped to 25 quid, the Admin fee will to go to charity and Season ticket prices are frozen.
I have got to agree with Chix that early birds lose out and WE put our cash up front and that has to be addressed but at least some progress has been made so we must try and be positive.
I understand the reason Tim.. what I didn't appreciate is it being wrapped up in a load of ********* about rewarding the fans .. when in fact it doesn't and they they haven't .. Far too much that comes out of PFC these days is about how wonderful Pompey Fans are .. tis true of course ... but if used to often it gets patronising and becomes meaningless... and IMO it aint far off that now ..
I'm a clever bloke and don't like being treated like a *****er .. by any organisation.. let alone PFC
Honestly .. If they offered me a free pie .. I'd be happy .. even one of the crap ones used by our useless caterers
apart from saving £50 it does not look like ST holders get much benefit anymore really and when the club then backtrack on the ticket prices that they announce the benefits of being a ST holder, in many ways, deminish even more - that said 'if'/'when' it comes to the 'big games' we always know that we will have the advantage over others so that benefit is not lost.
all this said why do we get ST's, is it to save money, is it because we want our regular seat or is it because we want to be at ALL the games?
i would say that it is a little of each, altho the 'saving money' is, i would say, probably the least thing that most of us think of these days so is that really our priority in going out to get them so is the fact others will now do this having not opted to get a ST, at least in the early bird, our main cause for concern?
it is basically because, and these are my thoughts, that it is increasingly feeling like it is almost pointless in many ways in being a ST holder anymore because we are not really appreciated as such, almost taken for granted?
that said i like having the same seat week-in-week-out and would not want to change that - i also want to see a bigger attendance so if dropping prices helps it can only help the club tho...
PFC really DOES need to look at something else to benefit season ticket holders tho - i would 'think' that maybe something extra special for next season should be brought in, and extra loyalty bonus of something. a show of faith? those that got ST - and especially on the early bird for 2010/11 and 2011/12 despite all the uncertainty and constraints put upon us surely deserve that extra thanks going into, what you would hope, will be a more financially viable and sustainable future so we could be rewarded more by the owners. at the very least, promotion or not, sticking with this seasons prices would need to be a must.
i know that i do not want to be insulted by being offered an extra 10, 20 or even 50% extra off anything i might by at the club because i would still have to spend extra merely to make the 'saving'.
despite all my moaning back along i was always getting my ST again this season, yep i might be a touch disappointed that ST holders' loyalty is not really being rewarded as much these days but when all is said and done i paid what i paid and was asked to, in some ways can i turn round now and say, 'well if they are now only paying this why did i have to pay that?'
it all boils down to the fact that i was not MADE to pay anything, i opted to do so really - altho PFC do tug at the heartstrings as they know invariably that you will do this...
