'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Deal agreed for Pearce?

Its that infamous 'sky sports understands' line again, although 'speculation' is growing that a new signing could be signed, sealed and delivered on Friday?

Jason Pearce looks 'set' to return to Pompey after about 4-years away with Bournemouth, where he has grown into a fine central defender with several nopower sides interested in taking him on.

Deals with other clubs appeared to be complicated by the 50% sell-on fee that we would receive, but to make this easier the logical thing has seemed to be us re-signing the 23-year-old and it 'seems' as though this is exactly what we will do!

Apparently a deal has been agreed and he will undergo a medical, which should be straightforward, before his return is finalised.

So, all being well our numbers will grow a little bit more in the coming hours as money signing no.1 of the summer is made.

Does Jason Pearce returning (as seems likely) to Pompey please you?

Thoughts as always are welcomed, so leave your comments below...

end of the day he's a decent player and we really need the numbers so yes i think he's a good signing and hopefully playing at a higher level will make him an even better player

not so sure, if he signs, he will be the 'bit part' player some seem to think - he will be there or thereabouts as a starter and alongside rocha john rocha could be a very good partner for him...
off out early tomorrow to pick up triny's ring and with it being here 30th this weekend will not be around much - 'if' pearce does indeed sign, or anyone else for that matter, could you cover on friday please chixy?
pompeyrug
I've never seen this lad play before but if he is a Pompey fan as ive heard then I think it would be a positive signing. We need more numbers and I think we should be taking more punts on more lower league players would be a good move.
PFC-Jono
Anybody think Magri will have a chance this season? Buxton broke into the 1st team at the same age.
Beijing_Bob
Would like to see some of the youths come through Bob, even if it is just to fill up the bench, they always seem hungrier when given their opportunity.
PompeyFrippy
Fee not released, & as Iv'e said before don't think we will know for sure, But if Haim goes to QPR make's this deal even better
pompeyyong
it certainly would and i welcome both! just need a medical to be passed, by all accounts, and then terms agreed. could this really be done today?
pompeyrug
i would be more than happy to see magri part of the squad this season Beijing altho i have my doubts that he will get much, if any, of a look-in this season. a loan move to bournemouth perhaps?
pompeyrug
Steve Cotterill was never a fan of youngsters... so I cannot see Magri breaking into the side!
Pompey Malta
Magri has not filled out enough for the championship yet.. Don't think he's ready to face the likes of marlin king Heskey etc
Pompeyhussler
He is young, keen and hungry. Now Matt Tubbs please
MickTait
Apparently terms now agreed.
PFCblue
A young, ambitious player at Pompey will always be a welcome addition. Still think that the experience will always count, so an approach to recently released LuaLua wouldn't go amiss.
God of Biscuits
Now is confirmed on the official site, a 3 year contract.
pompeyyong
getting lua lua back would b great god of biscuits especially seeing he's free. he'd score goals at this level and thats what we need
