Quite how much truth there is to the 'rumours' going around today is open to debate and anybodies guess really, although if any at all I pray that it comes off...
The 'rumours' I speak of?
Well these are 'claims' that QPR want to sign Tal Ben-Haim...
It goes without saying it is in PFC's best interests to offload him, something that we have tried - unsuccessfully - for some time now, although is it in his best interests to go?
This all depends on how much playing football really means to him and how much he will demand for 'the privilege' of doing this!
We need him gone so this is a rumour we very much need to be true; I would doubt we would even want a fee...
Speaking of money, it is this that is 'said' to have prevented Blackpool from signing Luke Varney - who today told The News he is very keen to sign for us.
I know that Blackpool have, or at least had, a very strict wage structure in place.
With it 'believed' we will now sign him I do hope we do this, if we do, on sensible and realistic money and the lure of 'plenty more' is not being offered as an incentive to players, especially those that are, with all due respect, average at best...

Not convinced about Varney as yet, always starts well then falls away; apparently had some attitude issues. We have those positions filled in Dave Kitson. . . . . . I would be delighted if TBH leaves circa 1 million seven hundred and eighty thousand pounds per year of his contract freed up for the club to use elsewhere. Cant see Warnock agreeing that salary level so as Rug says we will find out if ge does " just want to play football" ( remind you of anyone else recently) or not. Also be interesting to see if he pursues his case against Pompey.

Maybe a one off payment to TBH will happen. A golden door in the face will probably be needed to shift him but we will lose less money in the long run.

dont think we have paid him since january so will need to be a golden handshake of about 2m +

Pompeyhussler; I'm not sure where you get the Golden hand shake theory from? Pompey are taking him to the sport court of arbitration, the club is clearly of the opinion they have a good case and it's been like that from the time Andrew Andronikou first took legal advice. Pompey have had two further independant reviews and they are still the club are still pushing and paying ( they must be confident) for Court. TBH's court anouncement was quite irrelevant in fact.

getting rid of ben haim would b great its a shame they don't wanna take mokoena too tho! jason r i couldn't agree with u more! varney would b a good signing if we get him cheap and on low wages but can't see that happening
