I suspect plenty are desperate for you to leave!

I suspect plenty are desperate for you to leave!

The words 'Aaron Mokoena wants to leave Pompey' will come as music to many peoples ears I am sure!

Well this is something that kickoff.com is reporting as something that he wants.

£1m is 'said' to be the asking fee, and clubs in Turkey, Russia and Qatar could well meet that for him with him 'desperate' to leave Fratton.

One last 'lucrative contract' is what the 30-year-old is looking for, although it is his demands that are likely to actually see him stay at Fratton.

So, assuming that Moko is as keen to leave Pompey as his agent has said, then these guys need to look at themselves to make it happen.

Drop their demands and it could, look to be greedy and seeing out his Pompey days mainly from the bench, assuming we can build a decent enough squad this summer, is the more likely scenario for the former South African captain.

Whilst we would like to see players come through the gates at Fratton, and not exiting them, there are a few exceptions in the current squad and if Moko can be one of them to go then few will shed that many tears I doubt.

Problem is, as said, his terms will make any move unlikely...

Only his agent talking! Pure speculation by a South African site.

He only signed a two year contract in October ... I can smell some agent bull***** around this .. Can't see him leaving tbh and in fairness although he is not the greatest of players he has had his moments.. we were all raving about his partnership with Rocha a year ago .. no it seems nobody rates him... maybe he just hit a bad patch last season..

They call him 'The Axe' but his name is Mokoena'
He plays in defence and his name is Mokoena
You can have him for free, you can have our Mokoena
Hey Mokoena

Who needs a Messi eh Chix? I still think he is an important part in our team, and if his newer contract falls under the salary cap I would rather keep him, not only because he is an experienced centre back who has proven he can perform at this level, but also because we only have 7 bloody players and I don't want to see anyone leave! Somebody weld those bloody exit doors closed.

Mokoena is probably one of the players I would not let go. Haven't we been saying we need players who plays for their shirt? Well that is what Mokoena does. I believe Moko has a future at Pompey... Last season he couldn't break into the side just because Halford and Rocha were superb, at some point in time, but given the fact that Halford may not be coming back, I want Mokoena back in that back four! The world was watching with amazement when he helped us reach the 2010 FA Cup final... Let us get behind our squad guys... If there was a player I would let go, with all due respect, that would be old Hermann!

Malta .. I agree that we should keep him but Hermann is worth five Mokoenas.. for pure spirit alone .. and the way he can lift the crowd and in turn the team... well need I say more. He's a legend as far as I am concerned and along with Kanu will end up in our Hall of Fame at some point in the future .. sadly can't say the same for Mokoena .. Freedom of London and African Ambassador granted .. but plays for his shirt .. nah not always on what I have seen... All that said I would still keep him... good squad player.

Chix he is as limited as a poor player could be, but he has always been determined for the club's cause. I mentioned Hermann, just because he is getting older and older...

I wouldn't miss him tbh, him, Mok & Brown gone = quater of a million pound per month freed up to be spent on something/ someone Pompey need.

Chix, please no more poetry mate, Dont know if my poor heart can take it!!!!! If we get halford back (which would be awesome) we still need some cover for him, should we be looking at an up and comer instead of Mok?

I think Mokoena has been a huge disappointment. Experienced premier league player, captain of his country, he should have had the championship on fire, and yet he hardly got a game last season. He can go as far as I'm concerned and I'd let him go for free if they take Tal Ben Haim with him.
