3/3. Cotts confirms Norris signing

3/3. Cotts confirms Norris signing

What has been a pretty much 'nailed one' arrival is now done, and virtually dusted...

After months, and it quite literally has been months - we are going back to January, of 'speculation' and 'rumour' the arrival of David 'Chuck' Norris has been confirmed by Steve Cotterill.

He told The News: 'David has agreed to come here and will be in to join his new team-mates on July 1.

'We're delighted that he's agreed to come.

'He has great leadership qualities. You don't become the captain of a great club like Ipswich Town if you don't.

'He is a leader, has great quality and scores goals.

'We've agreed and sorted out his arrival now. It's a big bonus.

'We've agreed that and we look forward to welcoming him to the football club.

'We've been waiting for a long time.

'David has also been very patient waiting, and that is something I thank him for. I looking forward to working with him very much.'

This has not been officially confirmed on The Pompey Site yet, although come July 1st I would assume, well hope, it will!

Chuck to be our captain next season do we think guys?

3/3 today then as far as The News was concerned - sorry to harp on about it again though but is it just me that is disappointed that some, if not all, of this news had not come out on The Pompey Site first?

So, Chuck has become our 1st signing of the summer, plenty more will have to follow and if they can be of a similar quality as him we will not go far wrong...

Good stuff, Cotterill has been hell bent on getting Norris in, so now that he's here I hope he is as good as Cotterill thinks. Let's hope this article is more a case of 1/13 though.

100% captain.... I've learned how to interpret Cotterill's comments by now. If he is the leader it is said he is, then hey ho, go ahead.

I have seen him playing for Argyle and he was immense for them. Although a tad wee, he is versatile, skilled and knows where the big white posts are. I think the real reason SC wants him so bad is because he can play on the advanced right of his much loved (by himself) 4-5-1 come 4-3-3. A great guy for Ward to learn from. More of the same please!

Dave, could it be the politics of presentation, wouldn't do for Chan to announce; the new owners want and need a bounce Niecht?
