League cup - who would you like?

The nopower fixtures, being revealed on Friday morning, might be the main ones that people are looking at although the first fixture announcements of the new season will actually come on Thursday...

Pompey will find out at 10am that day who our league cup 1st round opponents will be.

Having been seeded in the southern section we will face one of these sides:

Aldershot
Barnet
Bristol Rovers
Charlton
Cheltenham
Crawley/AFC Wimbledon
Dagenham & Redbridge
Gillingham
Hereford
Northampton
Oxford
Plymouth
Southend
Stevenage
Swindon
Torquay
Wycombe
Yeovil

Crawley and AFC Wimbledon will face each other in a preliminary game with the winner of that tie going into the hat for the draw.

Given my geographical location, certainly for a midweek game, I know what option I would prefer - and what would make it easier for me to attend!

The question put to you by Vital Pompey though is who would you like us to be drawn against in the league cup?

Let us know with your thoughts, and perhaps reasons, below with some comments...

Not been to the Rec to visit Aldershot for more than a few years so that would be nice.

Barnet..cos according to coterill their keeper is not good enough for parks football !

I thought the game at Stevenage last season was pretty entertaining, moreso off the pitch than on it, was a great atmosphere and a tight game that could have went either way. I'd say a trip to any of these would be interesting.

Not Swindon, the old boy will score.

Argyle away for me, if not them, then Torquay away would be nice for me,,,what about you rug
plymouth graham
Anyone know when the games will be played?
pompeyyong
hi graham, hows it going?
got to say plymouth, but torquay especially now as i live in dawlish would be fantastic from the viewpoint that i could go and at minimum expense - and get home fairly easily and early! swindon, bristol rovers and yeovil would not be too bad, problem is i have been to every single one of these 5 and it would be nice to get someone new, well a new ground for me. plenty new for me on the list tbh - it will come down to costs involved tho tbh...

yong, fixtures will be played the first week of the season - week begining 8th august i think?
pompeyrug
as for playing barnet, it certainly would be interesting to see us come up against o'brien - still think we made a big mistake letting him go and have concerns that he was one of a few that cotterill let possible personal differences get in the way of his thinking...
pompeyrug
Barnet it is then
