Battling the lot down the road for Howard?

Battling the lot down the road for Howard?

Whilst none of us really know what CSI have planned, and what the genuine moves into the transfer market will be, it makes a change to hear about 'transfer rumours' and actually have some genuine belief that we could actually pull off these signings!

For too long now the rumours have been met with a kind of 'yea right' approach, but has the tide turned?

These 'rumours' are coming thick and fast, and I suspect this will continue, but the 'majority' do appear to be links that you think are genuinely possible of being pulled off...

Brian Howard is one of the latest names 'linked' and according to The News he is wanted 'as one of the first signings of the Convers Sports Initiatives era'

The News also 'understands the 28-year-old is keen to join Steve Cotterill as he sets about building a new squad at Fratton Park'.

If we want to sign the midfielder we will, by all accounts, be battling it out with 'the lot down the road' as The Scummers are interested in the Reading man too, who has been told he can leave the club after finding it tough to hold down a regular 1st team spot in recent times, being in and out of the starting 11.

What the last year or so has brought for Howard I do not know but I am sure that he was part of the Reading side that beat Liverpool in the cup the season before last I think it was and certainly scored the winner, I am sure it was the winner, for Barnsley when they knocked Liverpool out the cup a few years back.

A decent, hard working and goalscoring midfielder would not be out of place in our squad, of course if the price is right...

They also knocked out Chelsea, but it was 2008, & we won the ultimate prize.

Match highlights - Pompey 0-1 Orient

Disappointing as it was, you take the rough with the smooth and cannot gloss over things when they aren't so good so here goes with the 1-0 defeat Pompey suffered against Orient.

Simply not good enough!

Call me a moaner, call me a groaner but if you think the performance against Orient was good enough then I think you're wearing blue tinted specs as that was poor from Pompey.
