£100,000 payment for Ciftci?

£100,000 payment for Ciftci?

Nadir Ciftci has been a 'dead man walking' for half of the season and his release - along with 9 others - was confirmed towards the end of this week.

A talented, if somewhat temperamental perhaps, talent has slipped through our grasp due to a number of factors - both on his part and our managers...

According to The News he will join Kayserispor shortly after Fenerbahce did not make an offer for him that many 'reported' they would, so he will join a club that finished 6th in the Turkish top-flight.

We will receive some payment for him, albeit a small amount but better than nothing, with £100,000 the 'training compensation' amount we will get for the 19-year-old...

A great talent poorly man managed by Cott and at least the manager has, to some extent at least, admitted it. Ciftci was one of those players that needed a bit of luvin and he got it from the fans, that - sadly- put him on the wrong side of the manager; then the fact that Cot put him on for the last 2 maybe 3 mibs of games was seriously vindictive and designed entirely to push Shifty out, and in turn led to an unprofgesdional backlash from the player's agent. Although exgaffer ( football league manager I presume) no doubt will believe it was inspired management. 6th placed team in the Turkish league wil the kid get Eurofootie and that dream move a-la Diarra; just a shame Pompey will suffer as a club and get nothing- mostly because of a manager's issue with personality players.

£100,000 could have been worse and was last summer. We will get more for him than Nugent.....
