'If It's Football, It's Vital'

More brinkmanship in the PFC saga?

'Brinkmanship', 'bargaining tools', 'leverage for power', call it would you will, it all pretty much amounts to the same end game, right?

What am I talking about you might ask?

Well, I guess most of you have heard, seen or read the latest 'rumours' doing the rounds that CSI are contemplating pulling the plug on their takeover deal because 'apparent terms' of their takeover attempt have changed...

Over the past 18-24-months or so we have seen this kind of 'game' played by various members of the hierarchy of PFC, and even seen these games played with us, the fans, often stretching our loyalty to breaking point, breaking that bond in some cases.

The way I see it this what is happening with CSI and Chainrai and co now, Chainrai and co seemed to do this with Al Mirage and his mob and also, with the help of Admin Andy seemed to do this with Gaydarlek, who has done likewise with others, also you may recall.

As said this club - and I guess to be fair all walks of life - is littered with such goings on and basically, rightly or wrongly, this is what makes the world go round...

It is either the afore mentioned thoughts or reasons behind failed Bournemouth and Rangers takeovers are coming to the forefront with CSI's proposed takeover at Fratton.

Whatever though, whatever games may or may not be played out, it is us - the fans - once again caught in the crossfire!

Although you almost become 'immune' to these types of shenanigans really, as we have seen so much and dare I say it - as bad as it sounds, and as much as I clearly do care really - I almost do not care anymore...

God only knows what CSI will bring to the table if, as I still 'suspect' they will, come in and takeover PFC eventually, but speaking for myself alone I 'think' it is too soon to be jumping on one bandwagon or another either in full support of their attempts and complete disgust at the apparent 'changing of the goalposts' from Chainrai's lot because we really do not know the full story of whatever events are unfolding.

Nor can we jump on the 'Russian Revolution' is coming to bring great times, or not, bandwagons either to be honest.

As always, and as we have seen so many times in recent times at Fratton, battles for power with one party getting the better deal and another paying more than they want is what is happening once more for me, I just wish these things would not keep happening and long for the easy life! Like I say though this is what happens in 'business' these days and that is the world we now live in when it comes to football.

Lets just hope we can see this, 'the easy life', sometime in the not too distant future...

Rug I still believe, rightly or wrongly, that BC is doing the right thing by PFC despite these rumours. Obviously he has his 'investment' to protect but he also has the interests of PFC at heart. Pompey weren't the first choice for CSI, and as we know the other two fell by the wayside.

Yea I agree Blue, I have no problem with the man getting his money back, also the non existent ( in credit terms)Russian source of the leak is also an interesting point. I'm happy to wait and see, it's probably a " you pay the business transfer tax/ up to date tax liabilities" issue. Reminds of when I bought Leonie's mini, I had a price, the garage had a price, £600 difference, I made a final offer , they made a final offer, I walked 50 M down the road he pulls up in the mini with a meet in the middle offer. Leonie now has a nice British racing green Mini, (which somehow still have to pay for) but it's happening on almost every deal everywhere. No error in a liking football sales to used car sales by the way.
