Yep I know the latest situation is becoming as tiresome, tedious and frustrating as all the others in the past, and talking about 'the latest takeover' is something I become bored with and would sooner limit this to being done as/when it happens...
Although as the editor of Vital Pompey I have little option, even if I do not want to at times, to cover such 'reports' concerning such matters.
So I do hope that you afford me a little leeway with any flack that may come my way as a result of covering this!
Well, this Easter Sunday has seen sky sports 'claim' that 'sky sports news sources' have discovered that 'Russian businessman Vladimir Antonov will travel to London this week and finalise a deal to become Portsmouth's new owner.'
Of course Antonov is part of the CSI group, who have - by all accounts - already passed the 'Football League's Fit & Proper Persons test', so all that is needed is for the football league to approve the takeover, provided a deal is agreed between the selling and buying parties...
That, it is now said, has happened with 'an agreement' between CSI and Chainrai reached?
The agreement will allegedly so a payment deal for Chainrai to get of most of his £17m loan repaid.
'Word on the street' had it that 'mid May' was a probably timescale for the takeover to be complete, if Antonov is indeed travelling to London to finalise a deal this 'could' actually be realistic, right?
As ever though I say I just want what is best for PFC to happen and any will be owners to conduct themselves in the right way and in the best interests of our club to give us a sustainable and prosperous long-term future...
