What does the future hold for...Cotterill?

What does the future hold for...Cotterill?

There can be few clubs with such a history of squad rotation as Pompey.

This summer, as with the past 2-3, I would suspect that 'most' will be wondering where their future lies.

Although unlike some other years some players under contract at least 'should' have a better chance of remaining where they are, as long as this is what they want!

If this is what they want, and it is a financially viable option for us, lets hope this is what they get...

#17 David Cotterill

When some were not so impressed with him in the opening games I was, although not so now. For me David Cotterill has started to drift more and more out of games as his loan gets closer to ending...

In many ways I can see why he has a habit of moving on as much as he has as I do not think that he is consistent enough nearly enough to hold down a regular starting place that is warranted.

If the price was right, contract length and the salary, with all sustainable then I would not be against a permanent stay as beggars cannot be choosers and we need to get more numbers in this squad that we actually own - that said if we could look elsewhere I am not unconvinced that we could not find someone else of equal ability for less?

He has been on a par with John Utaka, just about, but on a fraction of the money.

It does beg the question though would someone like Matty Ritchie really have offered any less?

As I say I am not against it but suspect his future lies away from Fratton...

lets not even get started on Ritchie cause i'm sure we could fill an article or 2 just on that lol but yea completely agree with everything you said about Cotterill, really good at 1st but has slipped recently but then who in the team has been good recently? not sure if his form isn't just because of the team's lack of interest or for other reasons, so as you said with the right contract and fee i'd be happy to have him here next season

Have we got any squad size limits for next season, or was that just this? Agree with pompeym@ and Rug

Been disappointing for me,started off ok and it looked like we finally had the tricky flair player we needed, but he's failed to impress. Dont think he'll be back at fratton next season unless deals for other targets don't come off and his fee.

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 27th May.

    Chesterfield's O'Shea targeted

Although so far Pompey have had two bids turned down for Chesterfield's O'Shea. Will, assuming another bid (as it's expected) is made, it be third time luck for the Blues?

It wasn't Real Madrid but Bristol City isn't bad!

Contrary to what I just wrote (muppet that I am) this isn't at Fratton this is at Ashton Gate with Pompey heading to Bristol City on Saturday 30th July, with a 3pm kick-off.

Liverpool goalie keen on Pompey return

Will he get this chance though? I think we could quite safely say he'll not be in the Liverpool 1st team next season and Pompey want a goalie so could this be Ryan Fulton...
