What does the future hold for...Nugent?

There can be few clubs with such a history of squad rotation as Pompey.

This summer, as with the past 2-3, I would suspect that 'most' will be wondering where their future lies.

Although unlike some other years some players under contract at least 'should' have a better chance of remaining where they are, as long as this is what they want!

If this is what they want, and it is a financially viable option for us, lets hope this is what they get...

#10 Dave Nugent

This time last year Dave Nugent was nowhere in my thoughts regarding playing any part of this season.

He has, and despite pretty much proving - lets be honest - that he is not a premier league 'superstar', done well and won me over to be honest, well a bit. I was livid with his thoughts about us fans when he was out on loan last season. He is always a willing runner and worker, his finishing at times is breathtaking and at others takes your breath away as you are left cursing him so much for the most ridiculous misses possible!

Clubs will look at him, maybe some lower end premier league side or those going up from the nopower to the top flight, but he will not be inundated with offers...

Nor do I think many - if any - will offer him any more than we will for wages, even when we drop what he is on now. The only benefit, if you can call it that, other clubs 'could' give him are that status of 'premier league' footballer again.

To be honest with you I wish he were staying instead of Dave Kitson but have long since accepted he will go. I would be a little disappointed but it would not be the end of the world by a long shot. So his future lies away from Fratton...

Free transfer I suspect. That way at least he will get a decent signing on fee freom his new club. I am NOT pushing him out, far from it just realism I feel. That bloke Bosman who started all this is now reduced to living on benefit. And he thought he had found the golden goose..

I hope he goes. No first touch, no anticipation and just plain thick. Most frustrating footballer I have ever seen. Cant understand why everyone wants him to stay

Reckon he's off on a free, can't see him staying as he thinks he's way better than he is, lack of anticipation and first touch control says he's not worth busting the pay cap; if it exists next season.

Agree with above. Just a thought, no other club wants him and so we give him a new contract. I would like to be in the Fratton stands to witness that!!!

He is just waiting for the best deal hen can get, I would expect him to go to another championship side, or one that will come down next season 2011/2012 that is, any punters out there think he could go down the road ha ha!

Well if he played as well as his old man or Uncle can drink then we'd have lionel messi on our hands...as it is, he's Chumps material at best!!
