What does the future hold for...Webber?

There can be few clubs with such a history of squad rotation as Pompey.

This summer, as with the past 2-3, I would suspect that 'most' will be wondering where their future lies.

Although unlike some other years some players under contract at least 'should' have a better chance of remaining where they are, as long as this is what they want!

If this is what they want, and it is a financially viable option for us, lets hope this is what they get...

#9 Danny Webber

For me, on his day, Danny Webber is as good as any striker in the nopower league.

The problem is injury has meant we have no had the chance to see him 'have his day' really...

Now that Webber is back from a long-term injury he has the chance to prove he is worthy of something more, and to be honest from the little we have seen here and there so far I think he offers as much, in fact more, than most the strikers we have.

There will be takers for the striker, although few will offer, initially, anything long-term I would doubt. So, a month-to-month, 6-month with the option of a longer deal or even a pay-as-you-play contract is what I would suspect he will be looking as from any interested.

He will be on significantly less than he has been on for the past couple of years but 'if' he accepts reduced terms, and maybe a deal that suits us more, I would think his future is still at Fratton...

I would give him a one year deal with a view to extending it in jan, when played as a striker he gets in positions a striker should which for some reason our other strikers don't. Hopefully his finishing will come along when he's fully fit and sharp.

On the basis will probably loose Nugent. I would give him a 1 year pay as you play deal

1 year deal, let's see if he can score more than 1 in 5 chances, if he can agree mutual option to extend.

It will have to be a pay as you play deal because of injury sadly. Worth a punt though given a decnet pre-season.
