Take It Or Leave It

Portsmouth have offered Celtic what Harry is calling a "final offer." Portsmouth will reportable look elsewhere if there final offer is rejected.

Redknapp believes the latest offer is what the player is worth and has refused to pay more than the clubs evaluation, for any player.

'We've made a good offer but we have valuations of certain players and that is what we will stick to,' Redknapp said in The Daily Record.

'We're not going to pay any more than those valuations.

'Peter Storrie, our chief executive, is dealing with it and we hope Celtic will accept the bid.

'I like Petrov a lot and would like to sign him. We need to strengthen all around but it is hard to sign good players because clubs do notwant to sell them.

'It is not difficult to pick up bad players because clubs are looking to get rid of them but we want to get players to improve the team.'

Milan Mandaric still believes that a deal can be done for the player.

'We are going back with a bid. And I hope we can resolve something by the end of the week,' said Mandaric.

'We still have some way to go but we are hopeful we should be able to conclude a deal.'

Interesting that Petrov hasn't pressed for a move to Pompey. A relegation threatened pointless little club with a ramshackle ground and a dodgy car salesman for a manager......but then why would he. There's obviously more to life than money.

Says something about the level of your ambition storagematt if you lot are so hell bent on chasing a player from a "pathetic little league". Grow up you *****! Get your mummy to put your toys back in the pram, you'll get bored without them. Pay the money and you'll get the player but look out. Petrov goes to Pompey, has a good season and McGill starts filling his head full of ***** about how he is good enough to play for the top half dozen teams in the league. Mind you, I wonder how much 'arry would want for him then. A damn site more than what he's offering Celtic. Redknapp should be dragged up for what is effectively tapping a player under contract to another club Conducting his business in the press, unsettling the player hoping Celtic will offload him for peanuts. A scummy way to do business. Kind of deflects attention away from how poor a season you had last season don't it? Good world cup lads hahahahahaha Scotland are crap and we know we are, no delusions of ability here. lol. If you want him you can have him, pay up or shut up 'arry

If the player is right who cares where he comes from. It is where he is going & were we are going that matters. So you f**kin fresh air thief, live with it. Yes the World Cup was crap. But our standards & expectations are a lot higher than yours. Now we don't have too many top scottish players in our league, your sad tin pot nation doesn't qualify anymore. Once all this drama of Petrov has ended one way or another, you my northern chum will still be playing in your little pond, with no mummy & no toys.

That little pond extends into Europe and the Champs League. The only trip you'll be on the coach for a day out at Brighton to chase away your post-relegation blues !!! Go on Stan, go and join that big club going places !!!! Enjy the atmospheric Fartton Park filled with the, whoah wait for it, 19,000 fans. Jeez, better to be a big fish in a small pond than a wee tiddler in a loch. And as for standards and expectations are concerned, I have one word - "Crouch"!!!

Alternatively, stay where you are and bask in the joy of beating the likes of the mighty Inverness and Dunfermline every week. You'll be promised a European adventure, although this will invariably entail going out in the preliminary round to a strangely spelt team from Belarus or Moldova. Enjoy!

The socks really do have a problem with the fact the player wants to leave, get over it. Celtic are a good, big team in a $hit league. We are a mid size club moving forward in the best eague in the world.

Celtic midfielder Stilian Petrov admits he's still hopeful of joining Portsmouth. Petrov is part of Celtic's squad for their tour of the United States and said: "Everyone knows my situation. "It is up to Celtic; they know how I feel. As soon as they let me talk to someone, I will be happy. My form is poorer, definitely, I can't hide that. I'm not happy with my situation, so I hope we can sort it out quicker. "It has been dragging on for a few months now. I want it to finish. I want to go somewhere else, and I hope Celtic will respect my wishes." Sounds to me that Petrov certainly isn't happy and wants to join the best league in the world. Show's the mentality of Strachen in wanting to keep an unhappy player.

Les, ifyou are going to censure anyone at all it should be the likes of Storagematt, with his foul language and racism! Ok a pompey supporter he may be but do we really want to see that kind of writing on here? Im pretty sure that this board is viewed by youngsters as well!! Petrov signed a contract in January this year and was happy to take a hike in his wages. HE's been unsettled by a moneygrabbing agent and more recently a couple of dodgy dealer's in Rednapp and his chairman. Pompey are a bit like chav's who have won the lottery, all money and NO class.

If Petrov signs for us; he'll be playing 38 interesting league games next season, instead of 12-16. Sure, he'll be giving up European football - but being knocked out in August by some Latvian postmen tends to lose its allure after a while...
