'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Milan: "I`m Selling Pompey."

Milan Mandaric has, for the first time admitted, "I`m Selling Pompey."

Milan Mandaric is all set to sell his 51% share in the club to Alexandre (Sacha). However the Portsmouth Chairmen has denied reports that he will use the money to buy Wolves.

'I talk to Sir Jack Hayward regularly, because we get on well. But it's only to chat,' Mandaric told The News.

'Because I'm selling Pompey, people have put two and two together, but I'm not in talks about buying into Wolves.

'If I leave Pompey altogether, then one day I might get involved with someone else. But it's not happening now.'

Jez Moxey (Wolves chief executive) has also denied the Mandaric speculation, 'I've heard the rumours, and it's absolute nonsense. It's rubbish. There's nothing in it.'

Well, we have a lot to thank MM for. For those die hards who suffered the 90's, lower Div 2 footie, awful times under the Gregory famil & crowds of 8-10,000 on a good day, we are very grateful to MM for putting us where we are now.

agree this site will be the first to thank him when he goes!

We owe a great deal to Milan for getting where we are, he will be sadly missed. Hopefully he will stay with us in some capacity, but no-one can blame him if he moves on.

Atleast we know he wouldn't do the dirty and buy scummers because he said in the press 'If I leave Pompey altogether, then one day I might get involved with another football club" Well scummers can't play football so the rules them out.

What happened to the little club, Koper I think its called, from memory a warm sunny little town on the Mediterranean. Now that would be a great place for Milan, early partial retirement while tinkering with the local 2 pound football team, kraps all over broke, broken Wolves.

Sounds good to me TeddyLyon, i think i'll look onto it myself, lol.

I thought he said once that he was leaving as he had had enough of the heartbreak that football brings and he wanted to spend more time with his family?

Words can not express the gratitude Pompey fans owe MM, without him we almost CERTAINLY wouldn't be where we are today, the club may not even be here at all... I met MM (with a load of other Pompey fans) either just before he took over, or just after in a hotel in Swindon and he had big plans then, for them to have come true and more is something all of us will forever be grateful. It'll be a sad day when he moves on but if it is in his best interests we'll wish him all the best. There's only one Milan!!!

Before Milan Mandaric came along, we were going to the wall – selling half our team to Bristol Rovers for peanuts in a desperate bid to cut the wage bill and stay alive another week. Now we’re about to sign somebody for £10m Mandaric has my gratitude, he has my love and he has my utmost respect. Never in my wildest dreams did I envisage Portsmouth being where they are today. Sure, there was the whole Zajec debacle, his lovers tiff with Harry; and the rather grating and undignified way in which he often engaged the media for his purposes…… But there’s also the man who risked the wrath of his wife by refusing to leave Portsmouth three years ago when he meant to. There’s also the man who swallowed his pride and accepted widespread ridicule by getting Harry back. There’s the man who scoured the footballing world to find us the investment to not only help us survive last season but propel ourselves forward for years to come. And he really ****** off Rupert Lowe; who has been relegated and forced out by his own club. Mandaric, I salute you.
