Plymouth in 1978 was one of my lowest times supporting Pompey. We were bottom of the table heading towards the Fourth Division and this was the worst performance ever, The crowd of over 10,000 were cheering the Argyle goals as they went in. One was our throw in which keeper Steve Middleton somehow completely missed the ball rolled towards the goal and Fred Binney just had to knock it is the net from one yard out!! Absolutely abysmal!! By the time Steve Piper scored the late consolation most the crowd were back home.

Perhaps the win 26 years later made up for it though but it was a long time coming.

The last 3 home games but nothing can top beating the scum at home in our debut season on the prem in 2004. Amazing to think it was 7 years ago. That win kick started a nice winning streak that saw us stay up. Happy days.

One of the few I have missed havin to take the ex wife's mother to Canoe Lake for the afternoon. On the way home I drove past FP just as Crouch got his 2nd

Hartlepool (a) - Safety first!

A win at Wimbledon made sure of a play-offs place. Technically we can finish in the top 3 but this would require an unlikely set of results from too many clubs wouldn't it?
