'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Another few weeks, at least, without Lawro?

It looks as though Liam Lawrence will be out for a couple more weeks?

And, it looks as though it is an injury that could have been avoided...

Lawro was a 'surprise inclusion' among the subs on Tuesday, and even warmed up at half time, prompting thoughts that he could come on and help turn, what had been, a lacklustre performance.

Steve Cotterill has said that he was 'never coming on' he was just simply 'boosting numbers' and 'raising morale' kind of thing.

Of course we have often named players, thought to be unfit, to do just that but they have not actually taken part in any serious physical warm-up so I am not so sure that Lawro was never in the thoughts of coming on to be honest.

Sometimes you have to take a 'calculated risk' but having been told he would be out for 'a couple of weeks' initially attempting to come back 'inside eight or nine days' looks to have costs us, with him facing up to another couple of weeks out as a result.

Whilst he is clearly an important player to us, in all honesty I do not think we have missed him as much as I thought we would but with injuries starting to mount up in midfield this 'could' actually prove a costly recurrence of an injury, that 'perhaps' could have been avoided?

But hey ho, what can you do?

We cannot change anything now we just have to accept this and move on, hopefully learning from it too...

Is Cotts covering his back, why let him warm up at half time, if he never intended to use him, he had him on oxygen trying to speed up his recovery, sounds iffy to me.

Lawrence is always an important player. I would have him back to the starting 11 any time. Lawro is one of the most consistent players we've had this season and when the whole team was huffing and puffing on the field, he was always one of the best performers, along side Ward.

An interesting thing this Saturday is who'll be captaining the side. Mokoena will be back to the starting line-up for sure and play a midfield role. I am not sure about Kitson's captaincy role anyway. In the absence of Lawro and Moko, I would have given it to Hreidarsson and never to Kitson. Cotts said he used it as a moral boost for ginger, but I think that Mokoena needs it more tomorrow.

It will be "Kits" again, King to play instead of Ward

Id rather play Moks at the back and push Halford forward. No point in rushing Lawro, we should be safe enough now - and if we do the unthinkable we'll need him fit n fresh for tougher (on papaer and form) games than this one. 1-0 for me.. beat that ex-scummer Adams! PuP

Question for Pompeyweller; are you MAD? Mok the Weak in the back four- since he left the back four, the back four has become the fab four. Surely we don't want to go back to the old ways. Plus, goal difference could make the final position difference; which in 12 games time might prove telling. I don't think Kitson is confident or involved enough to be the skipper.

Got to go with Russel there... no way should Mok be put back in the back four. If he's to be back in stick him in the middle where he can do least damage.

Sorry I would push Halford forward and move Hermann inside and play Dicko!

Lawrence must not be rushed back though.

russellm - no, not mad, just of a different opinion to you... Moks is terrible in midfield and even against SU we will struggle to keep the ball. He is okay with RR at the back and with HH too we should be alright - Halford will pass the ball better... agree its not ideal, id rather he was on the bench but if he has to play, thats where Id play him - more chance of winning that way in my opinion.

Oh the back four has to stay as it is, 5 clean sheets in a row is priceless and we have to hope to make it 6 today. Would certainly welcome Lawro back, he's the clear player of the season, but admittedly we have been winning without him, so I agree that not having him has not turned out to be the disaster we would have feared.

Where will Laro play? Who will drop out?
