Cotterill signing confirmed

Cotterill signing confirmed

All we have been waiting for this week was the 'official confirmation' that David Cotterill has signed on loan.

This has now come on The Pompey Site.

Approval from the Welsh and English FA's have been given so he, he will wear no.17; will come in for an initial 1-month emergency loan. This 'should' be extended I suspect, as long as he is impressive enough.

Playing, setting up others, scoring and helping us up the table are his main aims: 'hopefully I can get a few games and help the side move up the league - I want to help as much as I can.

'I'm direct in my play. I like to get crosses and shots in, so hopefully I can be a threat going forward.

'There are quality players here who have played in the Premier League and I think we should be looking higher up the table.

'They're a great set of lads. I'm sure it will take me a few days to settle in fully but everything's going well so far.

'Five of our next seven games are at home, so we should be looking to get some points on the board.'

Surely, with this only an initial month, he will go straight into the starting 11 tomorrow to help solve our wide left position...

For my curiosity; how does he know they are a great set of lads when he's only just arrived? I desperately hope he's successful though.

    Over and out?

Noel Hunt's Pompey career could be over? A dislocated shoulder, at Hartlepool, means the former Southend man will not feature against Mansfield or Cheltenham.

Burgess - we can go again in league one

Christian Burgess, like the rest of us, is enjoying Pompey's promotion to league one BUT he's not content to settle at that level - he's already eyeing the Championship.

Winger returns but full back on his way out?

Ex-Chelsea & Walsall winger Lalkovic is back at Pompey, ahead of the proposed end to his Ross loan. Talbot looks as if his Blues days are numbered, a Chesterfield return is mooted?
