Although it is results that the record books remember, and not how you play, right...
10 games without a win sees us head to Doncaster this week, for a first trip to their Keepmoat Stadium I think?
Will this be a happy maiden voyage for Pompey though?
We need this or the good ship Pompey, which is already sinking fast, will take another blow that will see us take on even more water!
Steve Cotterill, as he told The Pompey Site, does not think that this run of results reflects our play during this period.
To be fair, despite some horrendous performances during this baron run, we have shown some real moments of quality - although goals, and not conceding them, win games.
Our problem is we concede at an alarming rate and do not take enough of the chances that we create!
He said: 'how didn't we win against Millwall and Hull at home? We deserved to get something at QPR. It was an awful game in awful conditions against Derby, but we could have beaten them.
'Quite a few teams in this division have gone on bad runs. You could say Doncaster, us and Derby aren't on good runs. Watford had one early in the season.
'You can go on that type of run, but if you get it right and get a bit of a rub of the green - in other words a settled team and a bit of confidence - you can get on a run like we did earlier in the season.'
A lot of could of, should of, would of's in there really...
Yep, we have been unfortunate but have also, as said, been our own worst enemies at times this season and the decision to sometimes chance things (or not change them), and at times - despite our small numbers - willingly go with round pegs in squad holes does not help.
It was always going to be a tough season, the purple patch that we had misled many of us, although what we MUST do for the remainder of the season is 'tough it out', as Cotterill said we will.
So long as 'everybody at the football club is doing their best', again as he said they are, that should be enough to keep us in the nopower league, and that will be more than acceptable for me.
Lets start with all 3pts, ok a point will do, at Donny tomorrow...
