Wright-Phillips loan bid failed?!

Wright-Phillips loan bid failed?!

I do not have sky sports, so I do not know what is going on tonight although I feel like I have woken up and found myself in a time warp...

I say this because I have just been texted to say that sky sports news have just said we are, or were, trying to get Shaun Wright-Phillips in on loan from Citeh!

Rewind a few years and this would have been something you could have believed, fast forward to where we are now and it is a strange one - to say the least!

An England international at Fratton? I thought those days we long gone, sky must have got this one wrong, right.

Whatever, it is said that they rejected the apparent approach as they wanted to sell and not loan any more players.

I wonder if they would accept £150,000 plus Mikey Brown and Richard Hughes...

Whilst it seems 'unlikely' that any deals will be done today it has bee said to me that David Lampitt and co ARE still at Fratton so some late, late actions 'might' still come off?

Although I am now told that they have 'called it a day' - no one is coming in, although no one is moving on either. Any rejections we saw today were not simply based to 'finance' by all accounts...

Its a shame. I think getting Shaun Wright Phillips would have been one hell of a scoop. However, we are one serious injury away from catastrophe. This second half of the season is going to be incredibly tough. What I'd also like to know is where the money from Utaka and Ritchies sales will be going?!

I understand the SWP link was an error and it was in fact Everton who made a bid. That came from a Toffee.

Right time to sort out the contracts of Brown and Hughes and to make sure TBH reports back for duty

Bradley WP more likely ...I think our faded reputation and lack of decent facilities just counts us out of every thing. next season we could ber the south coast poor relations with cherries and the two stripers going up

Plymouth Graham, I agree it plays apart, it has to, but I think the manager also has an influence. Harry was persuading players like Steve Stone, Berger and Walsh to come to Pompey when we were reasonably well run and long before the major PL payments. Can't see Cot the depresser talking stuff up to a player; can you? I'm getting to the stage of not caring how tough he's had it, I'm fed up of him talking the situation down and himself up. Lol I'm wondering if he's s creditor :-€ .

Why on earth would we want SWP anyway? to run up and down at a hundred mile an hour and then shoot at the corner flag. The blokes totally over-rated.

I know Harry takes plaudits for everything good Pompey ever done, but Walsh Russ?

We were never in for him and he wouldn't look twice at us. Pure speculation.

bl**dy smokescreen to get us talking about something other than why on earth we weren't in for some solid 6 months on contract Championship players to get us to mid table. Sickeningly trite and insulting PR
