Mears 'rumours' return

Not for the first time, and perhaps not for the last, Pompey are 'said' to be 'interested' in signing Tyrone Mears.

The Burnley man, 'linked' with an England call-up last season, is on the Pompey radar, at least as far as sky sports 'understands'.

They have said: 'Pompey are looking to bolster their squad and have made an offer to Burnley to land the Jamaican international.

'However, new Burnley boss Eddie Howe is still assessing his squad and is believed to have shunned their initial approach.'

To be honest I think that the guy would be a good signing although it is a signing that is never going to happen.

In fact, nothing against Mears, I would not want the signing to happen due to these two words 'Willie' and 'McKay'!

I think I would be right in saying that Willie McKay is his agent.

Due to this, as far as Pompey are concerned, we are best off steering clear of any deals involving this agent as there is 'previous' as far as he is concerned...

Willie "the crim" McKay or "Teflon Bill" = bad news. I hope DL gas a word with Andrew Andronikou who had quite a bit to say about a Scottish agent who figured strongly in Pompeys transfer dealings.
