Didn't go anywhere near these games; luckily.

none for me either, the brum spanking was a real low and a time when i, albeit for a brief time, almost 'accepted' relegation for the first time as something that would happen that season...

Like you Rug, I remember listening to the Brum game on the radio, arguably our worst result in the 7 prem years. Thankfully the great escape happened. As for 1989, I clearly remember a very poor performance against bottom of the table Shrewsbury. A win but what an awful game to watch. The crowd was a poor one too.

Shrewsbury, Cardiff and Rotherham for me. Note that in 1939 (well before I was born) the march to our first FA Cup triumph gathered pace. All our the rounds that year we were drawn at home.

Birthdays - John Collins was a left back who I think joined from Tottenham in 1971. Quite a useful little player too - I remember his first game in a pre-season friendly at Aldershot!! You are sad Dave you know!!
