'If It's Football, It's Vital'

More realistic, yet still unlikely, Norris bid?

Having been 'linked' with Jason Puncheon yesterday, which was, and still is, quite frankly ridiculous as we do not have the funds, and will not be given them, to compete with - nor should we attempt to given our state - with clubs in a 'bidding war' for anyone it is now 'said' that David Norris is on the 'radar'?

This, although still highly unlikely to come off methinks, seems less far-fetched as a fee of £250,000 is being spoken about.

Whilst that amount is still far from chicken feed for us these days given the 'small budget' that Steve Cotterill was being given to spend, apparently, along with the money that came in for Matty Ritchie this 'could' be viewed as being within a reasonable amount...

'Links' to Norris have come about from an Ipswich fans site, TWTD.co.uk - here although they are also in The Mirror - here.

The TWTD.co.uk article says that Norris is one of a staggering 21 Ipswich players out of contract at the end of the season! They either have a massive squad, or may soon have next to none...

I know a fair bit about the guy from his time with Plymouth, and he has done very will with Ipswich since his £2m 3-years ago, so 'if' it was at all possible - the fee within our means and we could offer realistically sustainable wages - then this is a deal I would be more than happy with.

As said, and as said yesterday, the thought of spending any money this window seems highly unlikely, although if we keep within our means and Cotterill does have that 'small budget' then this 'might' be one of the more realistic links to a player we will see this month?

All this said I think it would take a brave person to get too excited by this as although it is a more realistic link it is still highly unlikely as its not going to happen is it...

I still think we need a striker in on loan. Either someone with experience at this level or a young hungry striker from a Premier league club. PUP and 3pts saturday!

I'm sure I read somewhere recently that Ipswich had the largest squad in the division. PUP

Is it still too soon to start the Chuck Norris jokes again?
    PompeyFrippy
Definately not, I heard that he doesn't breathe but holds air hostage!

Chuck Norris once kicked the Earth, it hasn't stopped spinning.

You could get the man; but how do Pompey afford to pay his Salary? I think another defender and a goal scoring midfield general are probably the priorities now.

that is the main thing with most targets, they will not come cheap - altho what norris is on 'might' be within budget? i would not expect too much if i were anyone but surely norris fits that profile you say for a midfielder russ...

Chuck Norris doesn't bowl strikes, he just knocks down one pin and the other nine faint out of fear.

From the above " jokes" I see their is a level of confusion, I was confused, so I thought I'd seek clarification of the word Joke: OED & Peyps confirm my understanding " thing said or done to excite laughter" but then it goes on to say "ridiculous circumstance or person" " often seen in a Portsmouth shirt with a defenders squad number" - ok I made that bit up. That was under the counter description of no joke.

Any addition who is fit and has a decent performance level would be welcome at this point. Also, Chuck Norris's keyboard doesn't have a Ctrl key, because Chuck Norris is always in control.

Chuck Norris will never have a heart attack. His heart isn't nearly foolish enough to attack him.
