Martin loaned to Hawks

Martin loaned to Hawks

One of the few youngsters left at Pompey, that is not in the 1st team picture, has left Pompey for a loan spell elsewhere.

This youngster is Ellis Martin, who played a part in pre-season, who will join local neighbours Havant & Waterloovile for an initial 1-month loan.

Quite what future the 19-year-old has at Fratton remains to be seen, although this time away will enable him to play some regular 1st team football - hopefully - which can only benefit him, and Pompey - if he has a long-term future - as he looks to make his breakthrough.

The closest that he has come to making his debut was when he was an unused sub against Stevenage in the league cup earlier in the season.

    Worthy of a new deal?

So, Danny Rose, as we know, isn't going to play again this season. As things stand this would mean he'll not pull on a Pompey shirt again as his contract expires in the summer.

    Sickening Rotherham winner

Losing on Saturday was bad enough, the fact this was an added time winner more so. The cherry on the cake was the fact Rotherham's goal came from ex-Pompey full back Joe Mattock.
