Brown interest increases

If sky sports are right with what they 'understand' then Mikey Brown 'should', or at least 'could', soon be making his exit from Pompey.

Wolves have been interested in him although it is 'said' that Cardiff and Norwich are now 'leading the race for the 33-year-old'.

The more interest that is generated in Browny then the better, even if it would have been good - if possible - to keep him at Pompey. We know that it is not possible though.

You could argue that a bidding war could begin, although I suspect that this is unlikely but the facts are the more clubs that are interested the more chance there is that he will move on, and 'needs must' mean he has to...

Agreed Rug, I see a hypocrisy here in that Jones criticised Pompey for extreme wages so how can bankrupt Cardiff afford Browns wages as well as those of Bellamy? Ultimately as long as Pompey benefit we don't care but is smacks of a FL rule for one and not the other.

I wonder if the same will happen for Hughes?

I can't see any way that these clubs could afford his wages. I think we're living in cloud cuckoo land if we think there will be any bidding war for his services.

I think if he goes anywhere we will be 'topping up' his wages in effect for the remainder of his contract with us. At least this should be slightly cheaper than paying him to sit on his ass.

Norfolk you are on the money that we will NOT see a bidding war for him, altho the more 'interest' we have the better chance we have of moving him on...
i think you are also spot on about the wages sadly, although paying 1/4, 1/3 or 1/2 of his full amount is better - as you say - than paying the lot with him literally doing nothing.

Hope we don't face Brown on the pitch this season. He's a pain in the arse

I would love him at Leeds but cannot see ius getting anywhere near being able to afford his wages. How can Cardiff afford them?
