Ritchie de Laet on his way

Nothing has been 'officially' confirmed although both The News and sky sports, who 'understand', are saying that Ritchie de Laet has joined Pompey on loan.

It would 'seem' that de Laet was the 'mystery man' training with Pompey yesterday, although 'rumours' are going around that others have since joined in training too?

The 22-year-old Belgium defender, who can play anywhere along the back four, had been on loan with Preston but returned to Manyoo when Fergie Jnr got the boot!

He has, according to the 'reports' joined on loan until the end of the season.

I would take this, if this is the case, although - assuming he has signed - if he has been registered in time to face Forest tomorrow remains to be seen?

Sorry Rug, I have just posted this news on a thread elsewhere. Pull it if you like. Sky is also reporting this news in the last half hour. Fingers crossed he joins today! I hope so, cos I'm off to Nottingham tomorrow, and I must say, I wasn't looking forward to it.....

Great signing if this is real. But it was very likely for him to go out on loan again since he wanted playing time, something at Man Utd was not going to get!

That word I had with Fergie on Monday did the trick then!!!

that must have done it Alty, do you think he might also loan us another?

Hussler you were right with this one, can you be right with your predication above?

Owen? Was thinking more of Nani, Berbatov or Vidic.

de laet the de fender on de loan!!!! We wish him well & hope he can sure up the back.

And he can play ! In both contexts of that statement. Don't think Owen us a goer , not sure about the inevitable Henry link either. I would suggest Cot is happy for Webber to return to put pressure on Kitson, I reckon it's the proverbial midfield general and stand in next; I'd also like another defender though.

He operates at left back apparently so hopefully will replace Dickinson! Although I think he will be right back so Halford can push into midfield.

Trying to work out how his name is pronounced. It is either De Lat or De Lath.
