Petrov Set For Celtic Talks

Petrov Set For Celtic Talks

Petrov will meet with Gordon Strachan today for the first time this week. Portsmouth have now reportable made a second offer and Petrov I desperate to move to the Premiership.

The players agent, McGill said: 'He is frustrated and I have advised him to speak to the manager tomorrow.

'Even if Celtic agree a fee, there is no absolute guarantee that anything will happen, because we would then have to speak to Portsmouth. We've got a very unhappy player on our hands.'

Portsmouth`s second offer is not thought to match the five million being demanded by Celtic.

TBH lads , take him. If he doesn't want to play for a Champions League team and decides to come to Pompey, then your welcome to him. No disrespect but he will only leave you for someone else too, once he realises that it will either be fighting relegation or relegated this season. Lets see how he fairs in the Championship. Truth is - not one TOP premiership side came in for him and that will have dented his ego.He just recently signed a deal to keep him at Celtic till 2010. Thus why we want more than £3.5million , and TBH , we will hold out for £5 million , or Petrov will rot in our reserves RANT OVER :)

I believe will will get him. He wants to come here and Celtic will have to let him go. There is no point keeping a player if they are that unhappy because his heart won't be in the game. Celtic won't let him go for cheap tho, if we want him we need to offer a good price or just match their 5 million demands. Its not alot for a player of his quality. Or will we simply just squabble over a couple of grand and lose him like D'allesandro. Come on Pompey, do the right thing. And whats going on with millers4eva posting. Are you mental? read the article!

HA HA HA Yitsan you loser. You know nothing. You think CFC is so special cos you get in the chamions league every year but your not actually any good. Your in a scottish mickey mouse league with only 2 half decent teams and the rest are sunday league standard. We are a team with a mass of potential and will not be fighting relegation next season. If CFC were in the premiership you would probably get relegated yourself. So go back to your own board you backward person!

hehehe , bite like a young salmon , no one got something decent to say ??? instead of abuse like this bawbag ere. Ive said it as i see it, and if you dont see it that way fair enough , but you must be blind. Why the ***** would Petrov want to come play for Portsmouth ??? give me one good reason ??? PS Pompeymev go take a ***** to yourself and enjoy the championship next year !!!!!!!!!!!

The reason that not one of the top prem sides have come in for petrov so far, is that they don't often take a chance on players from much inferior leagues, such as div 1 & 2 in England and the SPL in Scotland. Whereas, we (or should i say), our manager, has been known to take a chance on so/so players. In answer to your question Yitsan - The one good reason that he'd want to come to Portsmouth,is that he most probably feels that he wants to extend himself in one of europe's best leagues, rather than just go through the motions against a crop of rubbish teams to earn his money.
