'New player' training with Pompey?

'New player' training with Pompey?

Could Pompey announce some good news on Friday regarding the arrival of this player Steve Cotterill 'hoped' would join us in time for the Forest game on Saturday?

Well, according to Greg Halford's 'Twitter' page on Thursday he said 'that there was a new player training with them, but he can't say who'.

To be honest I had always thought that David Beckham would fit in nicely to the Portsmouth way of life...

In all seriousness it does 'seem' as though this new player that Cotterill hoped to register by noon on Friday 'could' be sorted in time - the 'rumours', of course nothing more than this, are that this player is Andy Reid?

'If' it was, and he has been 'linked' in this window and the loan one, then a Pompey debut may well come against one of his former sides, as it was at Forest that the short and stocky Irishman made his name.

Lets just hope that Friday will bring us some positive news about the loan addition of another player to our squad, should it turn out to be Reid then I cannot say that I would be disappointed.

Whatever you thoughts on the transfer windows, and the 'rumour' and 'speculation' that they bring, you cannot deny that it does get your attention - although, and it is rare these days, its always nice when it is about players coming into Fratton as opposed to exiting Fratton, as seems to be the norm these days...

I'd be ok with Reid but sadly I think it might be Danny Schitty

If *Shittu is the alternative I'm gonna keep everything crossed that it's Reid.

Oh great if it is *Shittu aka Schitty, then he will fit nicely into our defence. You can just imagine the headlines now! ha

At least it would be another stoke name for the bench, perhaps Fuller?

Reid I could just about live with but thing he has seen better days, *Shittu, oh no and this would raise further concerns with me about Cotts ability to loan a decent player. Mick, apparently Tuncay is on the hunt for a new club? Ramsey from Arsenal looking for another loan deal, Jason Roberts could do a job?

Ryan Bertrand, left back from Chelsea. Apparently he spent some time at Forest and they really rate him.
