'Rumour mill' - John Utaka to Konyaspor?

'Rumour mill' - John Utaka to Konyaspor?

I said earlier today in an article that I 'suspected' the likes of John Utaka would be 'linked' with a move away from Pompey this month, although I also felt that it was 'unlikely' that he would be offloaded...

Well, maybe it could as it appears, that these 'rumours' have started early this month with a move to Turkey 'possibly' in the offing?

Konyasporluyuz.com has come onto the forum today to mention such a possibility - with a username like that I can only imagine that they are a fan of Konyaspor or Turkish football in general?

For more information, and to see what is being said in the forum, click this link - John Utaka to Konyaspor.

Ok lads, a quick whip round for the bus fare to the airport please. Never has a player with so much early promise been such a let down. Thanks for the few goals & the crosss for the cup final winning goal but he will not be missed. Bye bye.

ya say that but i don't think anyone can deny he'd be sorely missed if he did leave now, he's been a much better player under SC but he's on big wages and thats that, just hope we can get at least a half decent sum for him

He has been man of the match in 3 of the last 9 games. A small fee - say £250k and assuming Pompey don't subsidise his salary, then the club will save circa £900k off the CVA. All goes to make the club sellable to this mythical millionaired deep pocketed Pompey lover who is, some think, out there. Who would replace him; Swindon Charlie? Or, seemingly, a Brown replacement?

Good start to the January rumour mill though as Cot has said he thinks Hughes and Brown are to leave. DL can't be blackmailed by these two; it's too financially important.

Go on SC, get in there with 500k for the lad Hammill at Barnsley. Think he's quite a good player. RussellM can't see it being Charlie Austin at Swindon as a 1.2M bid is in the offing and we certainly don't have that kind of money unless Lawrence does go for £4M.
