Pompey To Make Second Offer
Pompey chairman Milan Mandaric has said that Portsmouth will make a fresh bid for Celtic`s playmaker Petrov.
'Harry Redknapp wants the player and we are backing Harry's judgment. We'll be back to Celtic in the next few days,' said Mandaric.
'There is a situation which needs to be resolved and I'm disappointed by what Celtic had to say about our bid for Petrov.
'But we'll go back to them and get to the bottom of the problem between us. I don't want to get into a war of words.'
In other news- Apparently a coach from Israel called "Avram Grant" will become assistant manager. Vital Pompey understands that this post will be going to Tony Adams however I also believe more than one coach will be employed.

Les, the only way for Pompey to stop the frustration and uncertainty is to actually complete a deal, whether that be Adams, Johnson, Petrov or whoever. I get the feeling we are going to be in for a long season. Maybe some of the suggested 40M should be spent on buying in every tradesman on the South Coast to get the new stadium built a little quicker. Then these player may be more interested in signing for us!

Let's get him, providing scummer Gordon doesn't hold us to ransom. This will shut the whinning Celts up. Have you seen some of their websites, all relgious, Irish based stuff. No wonder Rangers fans hate them. Going on about how big Celtic are, European football, 60,00 fans, playing for a small team like Pompey, facing a relegation battle etc. Makes your skin crawl thinking they want to join the Premiership. Well, wether he comes to us or not it sounds like he wants to leave you. Who can blame him.

I agree with FEn. We have the money so lets spend it. I know we don't want to pay over the top for players but all the time we are wealing and dealing, we are losing out. Do you think the big prem teams have this much trouble? Do you think they squabble over half a million here and there? NO THEY DON'T! Lets use the money we have to buy some quality players and do it quick before there aren't any players left.

We need good names paying good money and then that will raise the tempo of the clubs ambitions. Otherwise we will be in the usual mire down near the bottom again.
