Petrov Deal Moves Closer

Petrov Deal Moves Closer

Stilian Petrov moved even closer to becoming a Pompey player today after his agent claimed he doesn`t care about Celtic anymore.

'Stilian is becoming increasingly frustrated at Celtic and I will be coming up to see him and try to calm him down,' Petrov's agent Tony McGill told the Daily Record.

'His wife and family have not come back to Scotland with him, they are still in Bulgaria so he's finding it very difficult.

'Celtic must be hoping he changes his mind about leaving but he is more determined than ever.

'He is back for pre-season training because he is a professional. He is there in body but not in mind.

'Stilian would like the opportunity to speak to Portsmouth but I've told him that he can't, which is hard for him to understand.

'I can understand his frustrations but I have been in this situation before and I have never known a manager to keep an unhappy player.
'No disrespect to Celtic but he wants to play in The Premiership and he can't wait to get there.'

It's a polite way of saying Pompey you are way off the mark with the spondoolies, up it to 5m and you have yourself a player but at 3.5 you have no chance. Remember also Gordon looks like a man who will squeeze your nuts for every available penny.

Sorry he didn't come any closer to signing, his agent just opened his mouth and added some intencity to the fire, Now we know he is unhappy(ish) available, happy to play in England, probably wouldn't be unhappy in Europe and a team that plays in its competitions. The asking price is about 5m, offer 3.5m and you will be told to go away with an f word, looks a decent player, who scores goals, 10 last season was it?

Les the reason I am saying the deal is no closer is because you have only offered 65% of the players value. Pompey are not in the position of testing the water for a couple of bargains to add the final trimmings to an accomplished squad. All you have done is really pi$$ Celtic off so that they either hold out for close to the money they want or will sell him to another team to spite you. Fu.king good business decision?
