Bring on Manchester...FC United that is!

Bring on Manchester...FC United that is!

'FC United of Manchester would be my preferred FA cup opponent', not my vote, yours - although these findings from pompeyrug's poll are thoughts that I think I agree with I think, no offence Brighton!

One thing that I know is that whoever we face in the FA cup 3rd round, once they have played their replay, neither Brighton or FC United will be easy - especially away from home.

Both would represent a new ground for me, so I would be happy with either on that score but the prospect of facing a fairly newly formed club as well in the shape of FC United just shades it for me, even if it means the level of the 'upset factor' increases dramatically should we face them and then get beaten by them!

The thought of a local derby against Brighton does appeal to me, do not get me wrong but there is something special about the FA cup, right?

So, this something special makes me think that this trip to FC United would be that much more special.

That said the last time we faced a South coast side in the FA cup we went onto reach the cup final, so maybe facing another this season would be a lucky omen...

  • What the poll asked - Who would you rather face in the 3rd round?

  • How you voted - FC United of Manchester 66%
    Whoever! 19%
    Brighton 15%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys...

Not a game I can get excited about; I would have preferred Brighton.

    Movement of the people

There will be no exodus but as Bob Marley said there would be movement of the people, actually 'movement of Jah people', at Fratton in order for Jackett to bring players to Pompey.
