Glen Johnson Exclusive

Vital Pompey can exclusively reveal that Glen Johnson has been in talks with PSV this week about a possible move to the Dutch giants.

Portsmouth`s loan offer has been accepted and they now wait on the return of Glen Johnson. The information I have received suggests that Glen is keen on a move to PSV but the attraction of staying in the premiership may be too big to resist.

The dutch league is a bit like Scotland. A couple of big fish & that's it. A second rate league. All there top players want to play in England, Spain or Italy. What is he going to prove over there?

The Dutch have produced some good players over the years but they become great players once they leave the Dutch league. RVN, Van Persie, Bergkamp etc . Johnson would be better staying at Chelsea than going to the Dutch. His best option would be to stay in the Premiership, hopefully at Pompey

He's had his problems with Moaninho so i guess he'll never be a first choice for chelski anyway.

Unfortunatley for you is that there are half a dozen interested EPL clubs in addition to the Europeans and it will again all come down to money and opportunity. Despite large numbers being bantered around, the money is not being spent (DA) and opportunity could be Europe.

i would of thought he would choose u and continue to play in the premiership.

I think he will choose Pompey and stay in the premiership. If he gets first team football every week he is more likely to regain his international place. He will not go to psv.
POMPEYMEV
He is more likely to choose a team like Spurs, get more regular football and play in Europe. This guy will also be on a shXtload of cash which you will have to front up and that is not what is happening. You appear to be looking at top notch players and trying to pick them up for 20k per week and all you will end up with is the dregs of the barrel.
GreenGiant13
True, our board need to sort things out. We want to establish ourselves as a good prem side but they don't seem to understand that it costs lots of pennies. We are tight but hopefully things will change very soon.
POMPEYMEV
38k per week for DA is a couple of million for the season? Without doing the maths looks to me like a no brainer even if you have only 20m to spend on transfers and wages. Just saved a couple of quid with the guy that went to Stoke!
