'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The story of the season - Millwall (a)

2010/11 season v Millwall in the league at The Den, Tuesday 19th October 2010.

Once again Richie steps in to share his account, sorry for the lateness on this - there was a problem with getting this account to me until now.

Read on...

Due to pompeyrug missing from this game (again) I'm afraid you'll have to put up with me again, Richie.

Millwall away, well as I live with a Forest fan down in Exeter I was getting abuse about our forth coming game vs Forest and that I'll need my running shoes at Millwall.

The day started at Exeter St Thomas where I met my normal travelling partner Ken and also a Man Utd fan, yes a Man Utd fan, Pikey. It was there we got into Ken's car and drove the short distance to Exeter St Davids, where we got on the 13:57 to Paddington. The ale was flowing superbly as we talked about footy and the normal topics but in a polite version as we were sitting on the leathers.

We arrived in Paddington on time (Rug take note) then it was the tube to London Bridge with a stop in a chicken cafe to have a pee, then it was straight to the pub. We met the usual gang and also an overkill of London's finest. As always the beer flowed superbly then at around 7pm it was down to Bermondsey Theme Park.

Can't say much about the game TBH, as it didn't live up to the last 4-5 games but as Lawrence stepped up to score he sent the 1,770 Pompey fans delirious.

The trip back.

We were kept back outside the away end as we waited to get the train back to London Bridge. For some strange reason I found myself doing the hop scotch, must be the 10 or so beers. No excuses, once London's finest opened the gates to the station, as we needed to get back to London Bridge.

Then it was back to Paddington for the usual chips and it was back on the sleeper train, arriving back into a dark cold Exeter at 03:00 in the morning, nursing a bit of a hangover. I managed to stroll into my front door at around 03:15.

Another great day following Pompey around the country, PUP. Bring on Hull were pompeyrug will take over again.
