Milwall, Burnely, Swindon, Grimsby - grim an apt description - Swindon onwards. After that Fulham game I realised how much money I was spending in flying weekly, twice weekly from my home in France and had to reign it in a bit until I returned back to blighty 5 years ago.

Leyton Orient away in 1964 was a special day as Pompey came back from 3-0 to win 6-3!! Ron Saunders hat-trick took just eleven minutes and was then one of the fastest in league history. Me just three games Fulham, Blackpool and Bristol City.

Davies to Tranmere as Blues close in on Thompson?

With Burgess, Clarke and Whatmough ahead of him Davies' chances at Pompey are limited, especially if Swindon's Thompson completes move to Fratton Park - Davies could join Tranmere?
